What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

This course introduces you to this leading image manipulation software, showing you how to repair images, correct colour, use layers, resize image effectively, make selections and create masks. For those with little or no experience of Photoshop.

What topics will I study?

You will learn how to:
• use with the Photoshop workspace
• crop images, plus change the image and canvas size
• use a variety of selection tools to change areas of an image
• use layers for creative effects
• make basic colour corrections
• about how colour is described in digital images
• use filters for creative effects
• repair damaged or blemished images
• use masks for cutting-out and isolating effects

What are the entry requirements?

No previous knowledge of Photoshop is necessary. You must have good basic computer skills.
 

What facilities are there?

Learners will be given a college ID badge and have access to all college facilities, including learning centres and computers. All computers have Adobe CC on Windows 7. You can use this software outside of lesson time in the Learning Centres.

Are there any additional costs?

It would be an advantage, but not essential, to obtain a copy of Adobe CC whilst on the course.


It is important that you apply and pay for your course at least one week before the course starts to ensure that you will have access to all the facilities and resources in your first week.
Please be aware that there are no car parking facilities at Exeter College city centre sites, but public car parks are available across the city.
