What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

For complete beginners with no prior knowledge or those who wish to brush up their skills.  You will learn the language you need for basic survival in Italian speaking countries, including how to ask for and give basic information and short conversations in a variety of settings.

What topics will I study?

• Pronunciation introduction
• Numbers 1 – 100
• giving personal information about names and addresses
• giving basic information about colleagues, friends and relatives
• talk about jobs, age, marital status
• getting something to eat and drink in a bar
• obtaining something to eat in a restaurant
• understanding menus
• food vocabulary

What are the entry requirements?

None - Part 1 is for complete beginners.

What facilities are there?

The College library and learning resource centre is available for use by students.

What can the course lead on to?

You could progress on to the Italian Improvers course.

Are there any additional costs?

There is no course book, but students will be recommended to buy a grammar book and a bilingual dictionary.
