What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

This Apprenticeship offers a practical approach and a solid platform for anyone wishing to train as an IT Professional. As an Apprentice you will hold a full time job and attend college throughout the programme. You will work towards a framework of qualifications which make up the Apprenticeship.

Part of the Apprenticeship framework is the competence qualification. The qualification shows your competence, knowledge, and understanding of business tasks and procedures in the workplace, and proves you are able to carry out your job to the required standards.

You could progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 3).

When on your college day-release, you will be supported by your Skills Trainer. You will spend the remainder of the week in the workplace. Whilst at work, your Skills Officer will visit you and carry out assessments.

What topics will I study?

You will cover the following units:

  • Software installation and upgrade
  • System management

Support can be delivered either prior to your Apprenticeship via a traineeship or during the delivery of your programme.
