What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

A HR Consultant/Partner will provide human resources expertise within a company or organisation. You will provide and lead the delivery of HR solutions to business challenges, together with tailored advice to the business in a number of HR areas. You will often be required to make decisions and recommendations on what the business can/ should do in a specific situation.

What topics will I study?

Topics will include:

  • Lead the HR contribution to business projects and change programmes
  • Research, analyse and present HR/ business data
  • Build effective working relationships with business managers
  • Communicate confidently with people at all levels
  • Plan your own development
  • Understand the structure and responsibilities of the HR function, policies and processes
  • Understand where to source HR specialist expertise
  • Excellent knowledge of the principles and practices of running HR operations
  • Display tenacity and pro-activity in the way you go about your role

What experiences will I get?

You will benefit from links with companies across Devon and gain invaluable skills within industry. 

What are the entry requirements?

Maths and English GCSE, grade C/4 (or equivalent). If you do not have these qualifications our team will support you to gain these skills alongside your apprenticeship

What facilities are there?

  • The College has invested in new state-of-the-art teaching space for business and professional learning in the heart of Exeter city centre, including digital learning facilities and dedicated study space.
  • The teaching team has a plethora of experience from the world of business, with experts in a number of fields, including FTSE 100 companies and international brands.

What can the course lead on to?

Some apprentices remain within an organisation to advise on a single companies HR needs, or consult for a number of businesses as an external consultant

What support can I get?

You will have a dedicated Skills Officer who you can contact at any time. They will visit you in the workplace every 10 weeks to carry out a progress review with you and your employer.

What will this training cost me?

This can vary depending on the age of the Apprentice and the size of an organisation. There will be no cost to the Apprentice.
