What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

This course is suitable for anyone currently working in or seeking employment within travel, tourism, hospitality and leisure industries.
Welcome Host Gold is a highly practical one day customer service training course which will equip you with skills and knowledge of customer service. The learning is interactive and includes group exercises, completion of a training booklet and a multiple choice exam.

What topics will I study?

During the course you will work through a series of exercises and activities focusing on the topics listed below. At the end of the day you will sit a multiple choice exam, enabling you to achieve the City and Guilds accredited Level 2 Award in the Principles of Customer Service for Hospitality, Leisure, Travel and Tourism in addition to your Welcome Host Gold Certification. You will receive a workbook and materials containing all the information you will need to pass the course.

What are the entry requirements?

Open to all but experience of working within a customer service environment will be an advantage.

What facilities are there?

The course will be delivered at Victoria House, which is conveniently located in the centre of the city, opposite central station. All materials are provided.

What can the course lead on to?

For students currently working in a customer service environment this course will provide you with skills and knowledge that you put into immediate practice, improving your standards and potential to progress within the Travel, Tourism, Hospitality and Leisure industries. If you are not currently employed in one of these industries, this widely recognised qualification may enable you to take your first steps into employment in these sectors.

It is important that you apply and pay for your course at least one week before the course starts to ensure that you will have access to all the facilities and resources in your first week.
Please be aware that there are no car parking facilities at Exeter College city centre sites, but public car parks are available across the city.
