What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

In order to obtain a CSCS green Labourers card you will need to complete this one day Health and Safety Awareness course and take the onnline Health, Safety and Environment test. 

This course is aimed at anyone who is entering the construction industry. During their working day, construction workers may come into contact with hazardous situations that pose a serious risk to health and wellbeing. The course will be delivered by CITB accredited trainers. 

The training will be tutor led, with some “learner centred” work, and illustrated by reference to fatal /serious accidents that have been investigated by the Health and Safety Executive. DVDs will be used to supplement the training.

At the end of the course the delegates will be required to answer a 25 question test paper, and will be expected to gain a 72% pass mark.

What are the entry requirements?

You should have a good command of written and spoken English.

What facilities are there?

Tea and coffee are provided and you will have access to the site café and on site car park.

What can the course lead on to?

You could progress onto the Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) and online Health and Safety Environment Test, contact us for further information.

Are there any additional costs?

Test £19.50 – paid separately.

It is important that you apply and pay for your course at least one week before the course starts to ensure that you will have access to all the facilities and resources in your first week.
Please be aware that there are no car parking facilities at Exeter College city centre sites, but public car parks are available across the city.
