What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?
This qualification aims to guide and assess development of knowledge, understanding and skills in management and advanced practice within health and social care and children and young people’s services. The qualification confirms competence in these areas and serves as the required qualifications for registration and regulatory requirements in the sector where appropriate in England.
This is a higher Level 5 course recognising your ability to gain a good knowledge and understanding of a subject and to supervise varied tasks. Learning at this level is for those who are working at management level having supervisory responsibilities for service users and for staff.
This is a two year course. The first 18 weeks will be taught in college for 3 hours per week. Your assessor will arrange to see you in your work place for the remainder of the two year period. You will complete an online portfolio, which is accessible 24/7. Taught sessions are run on a weekly basis. There will be assignments to complete for each of the units of the qualification. There will also be practical assessments for each unit which will take place in the workplace by a qualified college assessor.
