For those who can already use computers but want to explore more skills. Students will have feedback from the tutor but there are no exams.

What topics will I study?

Students will vary in their ability and are given different exercises so all can progress.  The skills taught include:

  • Inserting page numbers.
  • Changing the margins.
  • File management.
  • Working with tables (for cvs etc).
  • Brief introduction to Excel (spreadsheets), PowerPoint (presentations) & Paint.
  • Cutting & pasting. 
  • Using text boxes.
  • Editing work quickly

What are the entry requirements?

None but for complete beginners or for those who have learnt a little but lack confidence please see the part 1 courses available in the day and evening.

What facilities are there?

There are sufficient computers for students to work individually.  The College Library and Learning Resource Centre are available for use by students.
