What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

This course is just right for the complete beginner or for those who have learnt a little but lack confidence.  Students can learn at their own pace.  Tutor will give feedback on all the work but there are no exams.

What topics will I study?

Students will vary in their ability and are given different exercise so all can progress.  The skills taught are:

  • Using the keyboard and mouse – including some shortcuts
  • Experiment with different font styles & sizes
  • Use different alignments
  • Explore and use various presentation icons
  • Type a formal letter
  • Design a poster
  • Save and open work

What facilities are there?

There are sufficient computers for students to work individually.  The College Library and Learning Resource Centre are available for use by students.
