Training will be provided in an informative and supportive professional environment by our team of skilled professionals. There are no assessments or examinations taken during this programmes – all that is required is bags of enthusiasm and your creativity!
What topics will I study?
This exciting programme will cover how to use sugar paste to cover cakes and use various techniques such as model making and cut-outs to complete a decorated cake.
What are the entry requirements?
None – all are welcome. This course is suitable for anyone who has an interest in cake decorating.

The Laurence Building boasts industry standard kitchens with professional equipment, alongside a newly built skills kitchen area. The facilities and lecturers provide the best environment for you to learn.
What can the course lead on to?
You could undertake another catering course such as The Art of Chocolate, Patisserie or Bake Off.
Are there any additional costs?
We will send you a list of equipment and ingredients we recommend you purchase to fully appreciate the course and the craft of cake decorating. You do not need to bring a cake to the first session.
It is important that you apply and pay for your course at least one week before the course starts to ensure that you will have access to all the facilities and resources in your first week.Please be aware that there are no car parking facilities at Exeter College city centre sites, but public car parks are available across the city.
