What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

The Level 3 Advanced Technical Diploma in Beauty and Spa Therapy course builds on the basic skills of a Level 2 qualification.  This Advanced Diploma course aims to provide you with a wide range of specialist practical skills and technical knowledge, which will equip you to seek employment or further training with the beauty and spa industry.

This technical qualification will be assessed by an externally set and externally marked exam and by a final practical Synoptic Assignment.

What topics will I study?

You will:

  • Learn facial electrotherapy treatments, including micro-dermabrasion techniques
  • Perform body analysis and body electrotherapy treatments
  • Learn a range of body massage therapies
  • Provide tanning services
  • Perform a variety of dry spa treatments
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge of Anatomy and Physiology
  • Provide Indian head massage
  • Promote and sell products and services to clients
  • Work in our welcoming centre with professional beauty clinics and spa
  • Have the opportunity to study additional professional qualifications

What experiences will I get?

This practically based training is the ideal preparation for gaining employment in the beauty or spa industry and you will have the opportunity to work with local employers who will provide demonstrations and talks on the industry and where possible work placements, enrichment visits and a range of professional certificated workshops (additional charges may apply).

What are the entry requirements?

You must have successfully completed a Level 2 Beauty Therapy course.

What can I study alongside this course?

This course is studied on its own and cannot be combined with other courses.

What facilities are there?

Our well-equipped beauty clinics and spa use leading brands of products, to include Dermalogica.

What can the course lead on to?

On successful completion of the course, you may seek employment as a senior beauty/spa therapist working in a beauty salon or day spa, health hydro, cruise ship or luxury hotel/resort spa. You may also wish to continue your studies by progressing to an advanced diploma in business for the beauty and spa Industry or HE progression into Beauty and Spa business Management programmes.

Are there any additional costs?

You will need a personal kit and uniform. The cost of your kit will depend on your choice of optional units. You are responsible for providing your own working resources. To complete this course you will need to purchase Level 3 kit. Details will be sent to you.

 

 

 

This further education course is free for all 16-18 year olds who are resident in the UK and the European Economic Area for the last 3 years. (You must be under 19 on 31st August in the calendar year that you start your course).
