What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

This course is fun but full of useful information and hints and tips to get you through the minefield that is owning a car. You will have the chance to check through your own vehicle as well as discovering ways in which you can prepare your vehicle for MOT and build your own confidence when interacting with technicians in the automotive industry.

What topics will I study?

This course is suitable for owners of cars or students learning to drive who are looking to obtain or improve on their knowledge of basic car maintenance or repairs. On the first and second evening students can bring their own vehicle to be checked through. The course content will cover the following:

  • Know your way around a vehicle (carrying out routing checks)
  • Carry out basic replacements (road wheels, bulbs, wiper blades)
  • Prepare your car for its MOT
  • Garage confidence (what to look out for and what are old tricks)

No entry requirements.

What facilities are there?

Access to modern vehicle workshop with ramps and industry specification resources. Experienced staff with a wealth of knowledge from Franchise to Non Franchise dealerships.

What can the course lead on to?

Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded a college certificate of achievement.
