What is it like to study this course and how will I be assessed?

Providing an overview of the roles and responsibilities required for managers, this course develops the skills required for this level of responsibility. Being equipped with the knowledge, skills and behaviours to manage and lead effectively is essential if an individual and their organisation are to succeed. This unit is for learners who want to develop or sharpen their professional edge and enhance personal effectiveness. It focuses on the ways organisations operate, the application of management and leadership approaches and how these can positively impact on own role, lead to improved performance, and support teams, colleagues and customers.

Classroom delivery from experienced managers and tutors with activities included throughout to support learners in being able to complete written assignments.

What are the entry requirements?

Five GCSEs at Grade C and above although other relevant or prior work experience may also be considered as an alternative. Learners will need to have access to a PC with internet connection to access online resources and complete assignments. CMI application form and interview with CMI tutor required.

What facilities are there?

All learners attending the course will have access to an online classroom which contains resources to support unit delivery as well as gaining CMI membership allowing them to use the CMI ManagementDirect library of resources.

What can the course lead on to?

Learners may also wish to further their ongoing personal and professional development by accessing other CMI qualifications, such as the CMI Level 5 Qualifications in Management and Leadership with the goal of becoming a Chartered Manager.
