Music, Media and Performing Arts

The Faculty of Media and Performing Arts (MPA) offers a wide range of university level programmes, currently encompassing Journalism, Film and TV Production, and Music. MPA is able to offer you a unique university level learning experience, tailored to your needs. This includes one to one support, small class sizes and many opportunities for discussion and debate.

Our facilities are excellent and include a fully-equipped TV Studio, Radio Station, Recording Studios, Theatre and dedicated rehearsal spaces, and Mac Suites with a full range of specialist software. We are dedicated to providing you with the support, guidance and inspiration required to complement and nurture the creative process.

The faculty staff have very close links with local employers and local, regional and national industry professionals such as prominent journalists, performers, music producers, studios and filmmakers. You will have the opportunity to achieve outstanding academic and vocational standards that will equip you for further study or employment.

Please note: we are looking to expand our offer across these and other curriculum areas (such as Performing Arts), and any updates to our programmes will be posted on this page.

What our students are saying

I have enjoyed college mostly due the great support that is possible though the college. The staff have, not just classroom experience, but also industry experience…it’s great to know your tutors have been and done what they’re teaching.

Haydon

As well as studying on this foundation degree, I conduct work experience for various publications and companies, some of which feeds into the course as well. I have had news stories published by the Express and Echo, Bristol Post, Crediton Courier, Plymouth Daily, to name a few.

Robbie

My main achievements whilst studying at Exeter College have been being able to adapt to the wide range of practical and theoretical aspects of the course, covering the performance, technical and research based elements. I have enjoyed all of the course, especially the facilities and the staff and taking advantage of whatever is on offer.
