About the College

Sunbeams Room - 0-2 Years

The room for our youngest children is spacious homely and welcoming, with a soft sensory area, easy access to toys and books. The room is designed so that the children have room to investigate and discover, be active and relax. The room is light and airy and the babies can see outside. The babies also have a separate garden area that is fenced off from the rest of the garden so they can play and explore in safety.

Mandy Mitchell

Mandy, Senior Nursery Nurse

I worked at the college nursery since 1996, achieving my Level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development in 2010. I love doing art activities with the children and I am particularly interested in outdoor play and I love to help the children construct dens in our spacious garden. I have three grown up children. I rode my first motor bike at the age of seven and still enjoy riding. In my spare time I am part of a drag racing team, we came 4th in the Euro Finals in 2012.

Chloe Wotton

Chloe, Nursery Nurse

I have been working at the nursery since I left school in 2008 and my NVQ 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development in 2010 as an apprentice. I enjoy keeping fit and like to find new and exciting physical outdoor activities. In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and family and go rock climbing. I am an animal lover and own two rabbits and a dog. I like to tell the children stories about my pets and talk with them about their pets at home.

Sophie Murrin

Sophie, Nursery Nurse

I have been working at the nursery for eight years. I started as an apprentice and gained both my level 2 and level 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development with the nursery and Exeter College. I particularly like doing cooking activities with the children, reading stories to them and teaching them simple rhymes and songs. When I am not at work I like to spend time with my family and friends.

In 2012 I was employed by Exeter College Day Nursery as bank staff. Two years on I am now a full time nursery assistant. As well as having a CACHE level 2 certificate in childcare I have recently completed a level 2 teaching assistant programme. In my spare time I like going back to Somerset to see family and friends.
