About the College

Rainbows Room - 3-5 Years

The 3-5’s room is designed to facilitate self chosen activity so that the children can combine toys and resources to discover and learn all they can about their current interests and ideas. They have access to a computer with age appropriate software and programs. They have free flow access to the garden throughout the day. There is a quiet area to relax in and to look at books, a role play area where children can play out different scenarios and favourite themes, for example going to the shops, the garden centre or the hairdressers and of course there is access to messy and creative play.

Lindsay Baker

Kaley, Senior Nursery Nurse

I joined the nursery team in February 2013. I have a PGCE in Early Years Education. I adore getting messy and exploring outdoor environments with the children. I love cooking, especially baking and will try my hand at anything crafty, currently I am having a go at crocheting and sewing.

Lindsey, Nursery Nurse

I have been working at the nursery since September 2006 after achieving my level 3 National Diploma in Early years at Exeter College. I enjoy working with the 3-5 year olds, going on regular visits to the library, local shops and parks. I particularly enjoy encouraging children to be artistic and imaginative through creative activities, exploring textures colours and space to create wonderful pictures.

Laura Jane Wilkinson

Laura, Nursery Assistant

I volunteered at the nursery in spring 2012 to obtain my level 2 in Children’s and Young Peoples Workforce development. I applied for a bank staff job at the nursery in summer 2012 and that led to a position in the baby room. Whilst in the baby room I gained my level 3 in Children’s Care Learning and Development. I moved to the Rainbow room in September 2014. I am currently studying part time for a foundation degree in Early Years.
